Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 April 2026
These Terms govern your use of Invitations (“Invitations,” “we,” “us”) at invitations.ajmalaksar.com. By signing up or by using any invitation we host on your behalf, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. The service
Invitations is a hosted platform for creating multi-event wedding invitations, sharing them via personalized links, and collecting RSVPs and headcounts. It's built for Malabar Muslim weddings but can be used for any wedding that fits the template system.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms — either on your own behalf, or on behalf of the couple whose wedding you are hosting.
- If you're acting on behalf of a couple or family, you confirm you have their permission to build and share the invitation.
3. Your account
- We use Clerk for sign-in. Keep your sign-in method (Google, phone OTP) secure — whoever can sign in can access your invitation data.
- You can invite co-hosts from the Settings page. Co-hosts you invite can see and edit invitations you've granted them access to. Revoke their access from the same page.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account — please tell us immediately if you think it's been compromised.
4. Invitee data — your responsibility
The names, relationships, and phone numbers of the guests you add are personal data. By uploading or entering that data, you confirm that:
- You have the right to share it with us and to deliver an invitation to those guests.
- The guests would reasonably expect to receive a wedding invitation from you or the couple at the address / phone number you entered.
- You'll honour any request from a guest to be removed — remove them from the invitees page promptly.
- If a guest contacts us about data they gave you, we may refer them back to you as the data controller for that relationship.
See our Privacy Policy for how we handle that data on your behalf.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Invitations to:
- Send invitations to people who haven't asked to receive them, or buy or scrape guest lists.
- Impersonate another person or couple, fabricate events you are not hosting, or mislead invitees about the nature of the event.
- Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, obscene, violates someone's privacy, or infringes copyright / trademarks.
- Distribute malware, viruses, or phishing material; scan or vulnerability-test our systems; or interfere with other users.
- Scrape the site, reverse-engineer the service, or exceed the rate limits we've set (these exist for good reasons).
- Use the service to send commercial solicitations, political messages, or anything unrelated to a wedding event.
If we believe you're violating this section, we may suspend or terminate your account and delete the associated invitations. In serious cases we may report the activity to the appropriate authorities.
6. Content ownership
- What you create is yours. Couple names, event details, invitee lists, dua requests, and any content you enter belong to you. You grant us a limited licence to host, display, and process that content strictly so we can deliver the service.
- Our stuff is ours. The Invitations platform itself — the code, the template designs, the brand, the ornaments — remains our property. You may not reproduce, resell, or rebrand the templates outside this service.
- Fonts and imagery. We use licensed or open-source assets in the templates. If you upload a couple photo, you confirm you have the right to display it.
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee 24/7 uptime. Maintenance, third-party outages (Clerk, Convex, Vercel, WhatsApp), and force majeure events can cause downtime. We'll do our best to communicate and recover quickly.
Because the invitee experience is a public page on the open web, we make no promise of secrecy beyond the opaque link itself. If someone shares an invitee link with a third party, that third party can open the invitation — that's by design.
8. Fees
The service is currently free while in early pilot. We will introduce one-time pricing in future. We'll give existing hosts at least 30 days' notice before any paid feature affects their invitations, and we will never retroactively charge for work already done under the free tier.
9. Termination
- By you. You can archive or delete any invitation at any time from Settings. To close your account entirely, email ajmalaksar25@gmail.com.
- By us.We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, if your use threatens the security or reputation of the service, or if we are legally required to do so. We'll notify you and, where possible, give you a chance to export your data first.
10. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any specific purpose. You use it at your own discretion.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither we nor our contributors will be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — including lost goodwill, lost guests, missed attendance, or any knock-on wedding planning costs — arising from your use of the service.
Our total aggregate liability in any matter connected to the service will not exceed ₹5,000 INR or the total fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of (a) content you upload, (b) invitations you send, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your infringement of someone else's rights.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ernakulam, Kerala, India. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be emailed to signed-up hosts at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after that counts as acceptance of the revised Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
